 Well,,,CONGRATULATIONS, My Friend,,,and a well deserved apt ona back,,,ClapClap I too was a heavy social drinker,,,,Wink,,,until I got Diabetes and used to get SOoo sick to my stomach that lasted til bout wednesday,,,,but Chit,,long bout Thursday Pm, I'd start planning for the coming weekend,,,,,WinkWink
 Then,,my Dr told me bout the Diabetes and he said, "You can stop drinking like you do, and maybe live a long life,,,or you can continue and help the Diabetes kill you,,,, I been bout that many years and alkyhol and ceegarettes no longer run my life.Clap

CONGRATULATIONS, Thad!!! That is quite a milestone. It has been 36 for me since I stopped wasting my life and money on alcohol. The recovery program my bride and I work with helps people beat addictions and other problems through a relationship with Christ and depending on the Lord to help them through. 
Just an old country boy saved by the grace of God.

I work with a lot of coworkers. My success rate isn’t good but I keep trying.
The good Lord pulled me through this. Not good luck and not will power but prayer and the grace of God.

Congratulations Thad, a great way to live, I have not found it necessary or desirable to use MAC since July of 1978.  I also owned and operated an out-patient alcohol and drug program for 20 years , having sold it 2000.  I am sure I wouldn't still be around if I hadn't changed my ways and I am sure my wife of 54 years would have been long gone.

Thad, that is really great.  I hope that wasn't as bad as quitting smoking as far as weight gain goes!  I'm 31 years without a smoke and gained aver 200 pounds.  Food tastes so much better!Big smile

Keep working at that.  There ain't no reason acceptable for either one of us to go back!

Our little program just got started on Feb 14th of this year but even with the Covid interruption we are slowly growing.

Congratulations!  That stuff can be the downfall of a fellow pretty easily, glad you quit when you could.  I do have to question the math tho, if you quit 25 years ago and you're 39 now, either you started pretty young or you're pulling our leg.  Whichever, no problem, glad you are still on the wagon.
