Hough H30 Payloader

   I was practically given this Payloader last week. It runs and functions but acts like it has fuel system gremlins. I intend to pick up all the rock piles on the edges of my place and "install" them as backfill on a culvert out back this summer. Curious as to the effectiveness of a machine like this at destumping. Stumps vary from 2" little ones to maybe up to a few 18" across. There are far more 2 -10 inch stumps than big ones. I also got a set of forks with it, the guy I got it from used it to put junk cars onto his scrap trailer. Anybody else here have one like it? Thoughts?

	Another question...Where might one find a repair manual for this machine?

	Those are good tough machines , should work well for stumps start low , lift as you go to keep traction , you may try Ebay for that manual , or it should be avaliable thry CNH ???

	Hey Scott, I am looking at possibly purchasing the same hough h30 payloader for the farm. I am curious how it worked out for you ripping up those stumps of yours? I am going to use it to move black dirt and push up a lot of tree stumps, but I’m not sure if it’s big enough to dig up stumps. Also if you know the specs on it that would be great. I can’t find much about these things on the internet. Thanks.

	First loader I rain as a kid was a Hough 120, for many years. With a straight pipe. Coolest thing ever. She still going to this day

	Taking out stumps is not a brute force endeavor - it's feness and figuring how to do it ! You might do a 2" easily with one swipe of bucket but larger require digging around edges . Practice with it before trying to ram or attack them straight on . Same with piles - don't attack them straight on but start on edge and work into them, shearing the material off rather than trying to move the full thing at once. A partial bucket of hard material takes power , a full bucket of losend material takes knowledge

	Well said Coke and very true. I have a Bobcat Skidsteer model 863 turbo. 75 HP. Has lift capacity of about 2100 pounds. I have taken good size tree stumps out but never try ramming them out. Treat them like pulling a tooth. If I am cutting down the tree I leave a 5' tall stump for leverage. Work all around the stump till it starts to move. Then you know know ya got it on the run.
