Does anyone out there know what an energy cell in the buda 344 engine does or what would happen to the engine if they do not work? I have been going over the manual for my hd6 and find it funny they can tell you that they must be replaced if damaged but not explain what they do or how to tell if it is malfunctioning.

That answer would tak a long time to type, but the bottom line is that engine is indirect injected....the energy cell is actually another small combustion chamber that is connected to the main chamber via small orfices.
Go to this web page for more info...they are sometime called a lanova cell

Thanks for the website.  Those things were just a real mystery to me especially the way the manual never even tried to explain what they do. I understand a little better now. I got an engine that is missing and was wondering if they had something to do with it. It looks like the energy cells wouldn't make the engine miss but could effect the overall efficiency and output of the engine. Thanks for the replies.

The energy cells are removable from the side of the cylinder head. I have never done this but it is said that they can be cleaned. My information says that they are precision polished therefore should not be worked on with anything metal that would scratch them.
