looking at buying a hd5, owner says it was a farm crawler and has higher gears than the dozer ones is this correct?  it currently has a heavy blade on the front and he says the rear rollers are worn and will throw track if you try to turn while backing. has no rock gaurds but the sprockets, growsers, and rails are in fair condition. guy wants 1500 and i think i cant go wrong it steers and runs great. i think if i yank the blade off it will put more pressure on the back of it so it wont throw track. anyone know how much rollers are?
thanks

HD5 and Dry steer clutch HD6 before number 22251 should all have same gearing in first 3 gears. Higher gears depend on weather a single or 2 reverse trans is fitted. Low should be 1.5 mph. Hydraulic steer HD6 and all 6s 22251 on had just slightly higher final drive ratio, but hardly noticeable.   Mac

Roller shells or complete rollers are out there and or old ones can be rebuilt. as 5 and 6 rollers are the same and interchange .
track coming off when turning can be worn bushing ends in track also allowing to much slop in track . Track is harder to find now as Berco does not seem to be making replacement at present time. Internal wear on pins and bushings which allows the track to be longer and out of spec will increase the wear factors also on sprockets and bushing outside but most wear is internal .
Measure the On center of pins from one link to next , max wear is 5/8"

The track shops down here have been getting stuff from Berco in Italy ok up to now.  For HD5/HD6  pins and bushings, rollers, seal kits, spocket rims.  Same for HD11 except rims. Quite a few years back, could not get anything though. Berco must have restarted manufacture

The market was real dry on HD5 / 6 track and it also fits TD9 IH as is same pitch and roller size but unsure on pad location of bolts . Sprockets on the AC machines are rings and weld to old spokes . I did this on my machine and on another I found a full sprocket and spokes I installed as I needed to do the axle on it and had it apart.
On the last 5 I cut a section of the sprocket out so as I did not have to remove the truck and loader frame , then welded that cut out section back into ring and welded to spokes.
On another HD5G I bolted a templet onto truck frame , removed it and cut the frame where it supports the outside bearing , then removed sprocket and seals, replaced what i had to then using bolt on template as guide rewelded the truck frame back .

Did not know about interchange with TD9 Coke. I`m sure I compared their measurements many years ago and found pitch slightly different from AC and bushing outside diameter different. I will look that up again.

Your right with the pitch Coke, same as TD9. It says TD6 is same pitch as HD4. Cant find the bush diameters.
