My HD-4 has a 6-way blade. I was using it yesterday to remove some small brush (Russian Olive). I had been working it for 3 t0 4 hours with no issues. I was backing up to line up with some brush and I stopped by moving the lever to the neutral position then moved the lever to go forward and nothing happened. I moved the lever to reverse and no movement. Several movements of the lever for forward and reverse produced nothing. Where do I start ? Is there something I need to look at that may be a simple fix or am I looking at a serious problem. Thanks for any and all help. Rodney.

If you heard no strange noises, I would figure your linkage or valve is the culprit. Could be more serious. Will the blade move up and down? HTH Tracy

I didn't try the blade to see if it would go up or down. The weather is rough here today. I'm planning on going to the location tomorrow and I'll check to see if it moves. Now that you mentioned hearing a noise I did hear something unusual coming from the front of the dozer about an hour before it stopped moving. It was not real loud and it only lasted about 1 or 2 minutes and never heard again. Thanks, Rodney

Blade is separate hyd from fwd/rev  - would start with valve body of clutch pack - check fluid level for the converter - clutches - then go from there - which gear is trany in ?
When it just quits with no noise think fluid in not shifting clutch pack  could be broken springs in valve body or ?

Check the linkage first, may have come loose somewhere.
