Today I have started on a light rebuild off the Swedish Klipan cab on my HD16DC. The roof and side shields need replacement. All the others I just give some albue grease.

Wow, X2!  What a beautiful "barn"!  Most of us would trade our first born for a setup like that.  What is "Pon"?  (on the truck), and what brand is the service truck?  Nice looking machinery in the background too.  I am very jealous!

I had a appointment with a guy with a hydraulic bender to fold the new roof but he’s sick so I can’t be done with the cab refresh before Christmas. So I have made new seals around the cab and brand new wiper motors and last of all a step so I can reach the fuel cab.

Morten.have

Nice work on the ole AC Crawler Dozer.  Especially like the open design shop with the I beam support system - that is a real neat design for a shop.

Reminds me of the old Sharon Steel Buildings that were available at one time here on the east coast - New York/Pennsylvania.

Correct jerry it’s a cat top coating. I don’t know the code of the original ac yellow and I had some cat paint laying around.    Are the cat and the ac yellow much different?

The car yellow is always concistent and available. With help from others on this forum and reading up on the topic, AC over years would change their yellow from year to year to suit engineering whims and consumer feedback. Looking up info from multiple sites including major industrial paint manufacturers such as PPG and Sherwin Williams there are many different paint codes. On my HD16 restore I started using the CAT YELLOW but my tractor has original Yellow and I like the look so I am getting it duplicated. It's a light or pale yellow. I will post pics for the group and code with manufacturer for anyone's use. You are doing great work Morten. I like the rear step for the fuel tank and it's a great idea.

Here in Michigan, today,, it is 0 degrees F and about a 18 mph wind. Wind chill which I don't really pay attention to is -17 F. At night its been -5 to -8 actual temp and we have at my place roughly 8 inches of snow on the ground.

My tractor barn is not heated and that is where my HD 16 is so have not been doing much on it the last 3 weeks. Hands freeze up too quick. Using the time to fabricate some parts and chase down some electric gremlins. Loving the work you are doing Morten. Those tracks are beefy for sure.

More Cat yellow for you jerry.

I’ve just finished the roof so now I’m ready to crane it on 👍🏻
In the meantime I have installed some asphalt and sponge type sound suspension around the cab. I have given all the floor guards a coat treatment of noise killer on the underside.
