Picked up a freebie the other day with  purchase.

Here to tell you that those little buggers have been completely redesigned.

one bulb and they do throw a beam.

Brought one home had it sitting on the work bench thought I had turned it off. Must have shorted out it got so hot I couldn’t pick it up. Oh well what you want for free.

Led's don't take much current to work.  Like the new ones with the one strip light but the other ones work pretty good too.  Have one in all the cab tractors and trucks.

What's them little LED's do if ya hook em up to 12V? I was gonna rig a couple up in my boat till I seen the hair like wires in them.

 Right, there is supposed to be a thin plastic liner that keeps the battery from contacting the inside metal.
 If it slides down the outside of the bottom battery (neg) will conduct with the outside of the battery on top of it ,...
 which is touching the tip of the bottom one making it positive.
 SHORT!!!
 Easy fix.

Iff'n you hook 'em up to 12V, you'll get a real bright light that don't last long...  THey run on 3 AAA batteries, in series, IIRR, that means 4.5V Max...Wink

LOL  I get the feeling that HF kinda shares the same level of enthusiasm as E10 gas.

Anyhow, I get along with both and liked the light so much that I bought another one yesterday.

I've picked up a couple of the LED lights when free with a purchase.  Decided to make a flexable metal holder on my small metal lathe.  the magnet holds the light in place and I can grab it off to find that small piece that ended up on the floor when I cut it off!!
