Hello everyone I have question and was wondering if anybody out there knows the answer. I bought a allis h3 dozer about 6 weeks ago and a freind of mine who is all about orange told me the last gas h3 had a serial number of 9699, that being said mine is 9766 it is stamped h3 before it which designates it as gas. I am assuming it was one of the last ones built in 1967, but can any point me in the right direction to find out how the serial number could be higher than my freinds book says. Any help would be great. Thanks, Kevin

My book says gas 1001-9700. diesel 1001-9949.

TractorData say last gas was 9483.

Yesterdays tractors says last 9700 both gas and diesel.

In the parts manual, I see a part for gas motor listed for serial number 6959 up.  Cant believe they would make a change for the last 41 gas dozers..

I wouldn't think so either unless in 1968 when they supposedly only were making hd3's and had a few left gas engines from the end of the d15 production and dropped them in the crawlers to get rid of them, but how do I find out. Still looking for an answer.
