There are service manuals available for most combines. I needed one for an l2 and advertised wanting one on here and someone fixed me up pretty reasonable

They are not true service manuals, they are service school training manuals that the dealership shop guys where handed when they went to service schools. They do have some good INFO in them but they are not full service manuals. I remember getting them when I went to schools back in the day. 
3 WD45's with power steering,G,D15 fork lift,D19, W-Speed Patrol, "A" Gleaner with a 330 corn head,"66" combine,roto-baler, and lots of Snap Coupler implements to make them work for their keep.

like said above, they were the service school books. Basically talking about the new stuff, and also talking about dealing with new issues. lots of good info, but not useful as a full service manual.
Gleaner: the properly engineered and built combine.
