My 545 wheel loader will not move. I changed the oil, putting in what the manual calls for, cleaning the screen beforehand. One thing I wondered about was that the intake tube that the screen attaches to seemed loose, I could move it around a bit. I didn't think too much about that, figuring it had some kind of flexible tubing higher up on it. After starting it up, there was absolutely no hint of movement from the machine, either in forward or reverse. I filled the trans to the overflow but it only took about 6 gallons, I think it needs 8 or so. Any ideas of what my (it's) trouble is?
I may have posted this question early in the summer, don't remember, or I could have THOUGHT I had posted it. This getting old stuff is for the birds! Thanks, John |

There is a spool on the right side of the machine under the operating platform, there will be a brake line going to it, it is a disconnect for the tranny when you apply the brake, it works on brake pressure to shift the spool into neutral, check and make sure that isnt stuck, or that the internal spool itself isnt stuck in the bore. There should be a gauge on your dash with torque converter pressure if it reads 0 and doesnt move when your in gear or rev up the motor chances are that spool is stuck. |
