Great day today. Went after the water pump but more scary was the thermostat cover had one bolt head gone but stud sticking up. Did the weld a nut trick and it worked, WHEW. Other five holes were full of crud not allowing bolts much room, drill bit and a tap, new shinny bolts and no leaks.
Discovered 160 thermostat put 180 back in. PO was giving me hints he was chasing a airconditioning issue. He put on a Sadden, valve, tank and still wasn't happy with it. He was using the tractor on a square baler. I have removed the bypass filter out and used Dyna Mat materal to seal the many open places there was on the fire wall and floor but kept it open so it can move air down and around the transmission. When I was scuffing up the fan blade to paint it I had a ow no moment. There was a great big F stamped around the bolt holes, but it came off the other way. Glad to see it pumping air to the rear. Weld the door is next. |
