Has anyone had a late model 175 with the 248 cu inch diesel on a dyno? I am wondering what the pto horsepower is.

Nebraska Test recorded 62.47 PTO HP @ 2,000 RPM engine speed. 54.62 HP was delivered at 1650 RPM engine speed which was 540 RPM on the PTO. Both of these tests were made with the 236 cube engine. There is no reason to believe that the later model 248 cube engine HP performance was set any different. Allis-Chalmers also sold a One-Eighty tractor at the same time which was 64 HP on the PTO. They certainly didn't purposely want more engine HP to conflict with the One-Eighty or to have transmission problems with the 175. Diesel HP is controlled by injection pump settings so it's quite easy to zero in on what HP to have. Yes. We did sell two 175's back in the 1977-78 time frame and I dyno'd both of them. I don't remember either delivering any more than what they were rated at. And I would have remembered it if they would have.
