 Topic: 1965 190XT Gasoline rear hydraulic couplers

Hi all. I am going to need to replace the hydraulic hoses than go to the couplers on my 190XT. Are the couplers supposed to be mounted solid under the fuel tank? They are loose and it makes it hard to hook up cylinder hoses to them since I have to unhook loader couplers to use other equipment. Also, I would imagine these hose aren't going to be a walk in the park to change. It looks like I will probably have to remove the fuel tank. Any tips on how to do that are also welcome. I have not worked on these 190's outside of engine or regular services before. So, any advice is very welcome. Thanks Pat

Under the fuel tank of any mighty One-Ninety was originally 100% steel hydraulic lines. There were four bulkhead connections at the very rear of the fuel tank frame lip for you to thread in your couplers so that they were solid. Who knows what you have. Doesn't sound OEM.

My most recent purchase 190XT has rubber hoses on the back, short hoses that cross over apparently done to put break away couplers on it. Adds a bunch of potential leaks, not sure that I like it. I replaced the couplers on my seriesIII two years ago, bought couplers from Amazon. They were cheap enough and easy enough to change that I wouldn't mind having to do it again in a few years.

Remembered to take a picture of the setup on the seriesI today. I don't use the hydraulics a lot, so might just leave it alone for now. But I did notice while resizing picture the galvanized elbows, so I should do something about it soon.  Ted

Galvanized elbows probably never a problem. Your choice. That setup is for breakaway couplers. When Implement hose pulls on coupler it slides sleeve back to disconnect VS ripping hose into.
