I removed the crankshaft pulley (series II D12) in order to replace a leaking front main oil seal. I broke it taking it off. I have a new pulley but is at least as much trouble going on as it was coming off. My crank od measures 1.12 as does the pulley id. I know I have to heat it, but is there anything else I should be doing?
Also, Does the pulley side with the set screw go inside or outside the pulley? When I took the pulley off, the set screw was inside but if I put the new pulley on with the set screw in, the fan belt will not be aligned. Any advice will be greatly appreciated. jim
