New experiment on the WD... Used some Gasolia pipe sealant on the new sediment bowl assembly (I used thread tape last time, which... yeah, didn't work great, of course). Supposedly rated for liquids including gasoline. Maybe now it will quit leaking out on me over winter.

Also cut down a small mesh screen to pop in the top of the stem so maybe I won't get so many random bits of bug debris in the tank. I got fragments of a wasp and a spider out after draining and filtering the gas!

That is my go to for any threaded connections. If for water, then add teflon tape

I used the yellow thread tape (gas/oil rated) last time I replaced a sediment bowl assembly, and it's held up for at least one year now.

I used Permatex 80016 always keeps fittings of any kind from leaking, doesn't get hard so if the fitting needs to be moved a tad it still won't leak.

plummerscarin -- Whew, glad to hear I'm not the first to try it!

wjohn -- Also thought about that option but wasn't sure if the tape worked well with that style fitting.

Gary / Steve -- Hmmm didn't think about gas safe form a gasket, that may be something for next time.
