200 gears

   looking to speed up a 200. Can only get 9.5 mph in 6th gear . would like to get to 12mph.  7th is 15.5. any input. running 20.8 38 at 3000rpm

	If it was me, I'd first consider something like 23.1X30 for 7th gear or 20.8X42 or maybe 18.4X42 for 6th gear. I'd do some calculations first. I have often tried many different size tires to get traction to match available power. Just because everyone else runs a given size tire doesn't mean that it will work for what you have to work with.
	If it was fun to pull in LOW gear, I could have a John Deere. Real pullers don't have speed limits. If you can't make it GO... make it SHINY

	50+ years ago, Allis-Chalmers had a "fast third" gear for 180/190 transmissions. It was a tractor pulling part and helped close the gap between 6th gear and 7th gear. The D-19 tractor had a very slow 7th gear, like 9.5 MPH which would be close to what you want. The D-19 front intermediate gear set will fit into a 180-190-200 torque tube. Also D-19 bull/bull pinion gears are about 8 to 10% faster than a 200. I've got the specific ratios at home. Someone can make you a "fast third" gear, but at a cost. Gear Headquarters in Kansas City made D-21 transmission gears for me three times back in the 80's. Mark Gettinger from Indiana ( 765-977-8348 ??) makes complete transmission for A-C's that pull, so he could probably help too. Changing tire diameters would work, but in the Midwest, we generally have rules that specifically say what tire size you can and cannot run. 	D-19 bull/bull pinion gears are 8% faster, which would take 9.5 MPH up to 10.3 MPH. My charts have 6th gear @ 3000 RPM to be 9.5 MPH with 18.4 x 38 rubber. 20.8's should make 9.9 MPH according to my tire chart and 8% more on that should be 10.7 MPH. Still not 12.5 like you want.
