got a D17 Series III in at the shop and need to know if it is supposed to be neg or pos ground, also if anybody has a good wiring diagram. I've got too rewire it as the wiring is shot and its not charging at all. Thanks in advance folks

To see how it was last set up., look at the coil. If the neg side of the coil goes to the distributor it is neg ground. If the pos side of the coil goes to distributor, it is pos. ground.

I believe all D-17s, right thru the series IVs have positive ground systems.

Actually, I like Charle's answer better, cause you never know what might have been done to the system over the years.
