ya'll know i have a hard time walking and have to find places to land quite often, my legs below the knees look like hamburger, they have finally closed up and no longer leak fluids...we'll see how long that lasts! also my back goes out alot while standing or walking to far. that sucks too! after finding out about my diabetes, my feet went from size 10-1/2 to size 14 real fast. hard to find shoes to fit, they don't last long as my feet would seep fluids too like my legs. would hafta pitch my shoes after about 3-weeks to a month of wearing them. soooooo...wally world shoes/slippers came home alot because of that. no arches in them and that would help make my back hurt more, but couldn't afford about anything else as often as i'd have to pitch them. yesterday the old lady....oooooops.....i mean the loving wife came home with a new style pair of shoes, they even look like regular shoes, they have a thick walking sole on them, have a bit of thicker heftier padding inside (comfy) and fit pretty well, i've been able to walk better and not feel like i'm walking on sharp rocks all the time. today wearing them, i have been able to walk alot more comfortly, so i did! i'm wore out tonight, but in a good way! she said they only cost $20. dunno where she found them, but is on the hunt for more! have tried arch supports inside some of the shoes, but they really didn't work very long. i know i need (well my back needs) more arch, but like i said, anything with anything good just costs to much as often as i have to pitch them. hopefully these will help alot on the pain. getting tired of living on hydrocodone and tylenol and spasm pills. LeonR made me a walking cane, it's wonderful, it has come in handy alot! thanks Leon...you are a great friend! i AM looking forward to Hutch this year, just hope i can make it, be good to see ya'll again! i think i'll need new batteries for my grease gun tho!

Please tell you have stopped wearing walmart shoes. I wore them for 2 or 3 years.   I now have a heal spur on my right heal. 2 Dr's tell me it is from wearing cheap shoes.   I bought a pair of good shoes and arch supports from the local shoe store. + the prescription seems to be helping. I sure hope your legs dry up. Are you dinking cheap beer?
maybe causing leaks. That's a joke son. If I could find it here in the states we'd get together and drink some Monninger beer in glass bottles made in Karlsrue Germany. 6% It destroyed my taste for American beer. You ever been hand milking an old cow and she takes a leak. You almost always get a taste. Well that reminds me of American Beer.

Well,,Good Buddy,,I'm sure glad to hear you are finally gettin to be able to walk a lot more,,,,Clap You gots to use them feets as much as you can to prevent Atrophy(sp) of the leg muscles. Every Physical Theraphist I've met always says,,"You're gonna lose what you don't use",,,,SOOooo,,,you're on your way to savin them legs,,!!ClapClap
I used to buy the Walmart shoes for the same reasons but bout a year ago,,they had run out of the style 4E I had been using,,,( I gots big WIDE feets) so I checked out Ebay and fount some Reebok shoes in the black and 4E extra width and they were very comfortable and fit great plus lots of padding inside so easy on the walking. They last me bout 5-6 months and at $35 a pair are a good buy,,,,,,Clap
OH,,,and if you stopped drinkin thet Black Label,,,is prolly why you been sufferin lately,,,,,,LOLLOL

Most of the grocery stores around here started to  do the " Buy One- get One Free" promos on the meats to compete with walmart a few months ago and you can really get some Great deals on meats. I been waitin on them to throw the briskets on BOGO but it ain't happened yet,,,,,

Well, that is GOOOOODD news!!!  I've seen them gams, remember.  I sure hope they continue to get better all the time!!  I HOPE you make it to Hutch this year again.  It's been a while.......

Have you tried 'Crocs' for around the house?  You can put insoles in them and they are comfortable and all you'd have to do is wash them off, not throw them away.  I love em for just slipping into and going outside for something stupid.  I actually wear them quite a bit.  It's an idea....

I'm happy for you Buddy!!!

At $20.00 a pair you should have 2 or 3 pair and alternate wearing them so they can dry and last longer.

Remember back in late 50's - 60's grandmother made a arrangement to do her doctors laundry to pay her doctor bills as she was just scraping by .
had problems with feet swelling and legs having to be wrapped in Ace bandages to be able to stand or walk -
Doctor told her - you know that ironing board you use on my sheets, shirts and smocks - place one end of it on the couch - other on floor - lay on floor with feet up on the board for 20 minutes - twice a day to get fluids back up towards heart - will do more than meds I can prescribe ..
Worked well enough so she got a part time job washing dishes 3 days a week some evenings - but she was only 75 then -lived till 90 but had to quit doing laundry and dishes at 85

Hey Shameless, you remember I said I was going to make a stick for your better half. I have it finished except for the knob at the top, but haven't come up with a door knob for it so I'll probably make one for it. Does walnut sound OK? Got to get it done. In my eighty years, time has just about run out. Since it's getting colder I'll switch over to inside work, cause my heart can't take the cold.

I'm wondering if you could use some of the 2' x 2' foam jugsaw mats, to use as insoles ? yeah good 1/2" thick, but I stand on them in the garage and my feet TELL me when I'm on concrete !
I think store bought insoles are toooo thin ??

Hey Shameless,,I remember you mentioning that you take "Hydros" and some time back, My younger bro gave me a couple of his "GoTo' pills that he used for his shoulder and they worked GREAT on my shoulder too,,!! They are 7.5 Hydrocodone/200 Ibuprophen. WHEN i went to see my PCP about ALL my ailments last month,,I told him I wanted some of the same pills instead of the steroid shot, so he gave me an RX for a 20 day supply. I had to take one yesterday and my shoulder finally quit hurting when it took hold,,,,,,Clap My wife takes 5.0 Hydro/325 acetaminophen,,,and they don't work near as good as these,,,,,Clap
