Just installed a new voltage regulator on my D17. It is set up for negative ground, how do I polarize it? Thanks.

Without the Tractor running, take a jumper wire, go from BAT to GEN. It will spark. Perfectly normal. After that fire up the Tractor...

So you converted your tractor to a alternator correct? Would the procedure be the same for a generator with positive ground? Thanks. Ryan

I thought one polarized a generator, but not a regulator. I definitely plead electrical ignorance, but what part of a regulator requires re-polarization?
