I hope that you all have a grateful Memorial Day.   It's not a day to be happy about, thinking of those who gave their lives to protect the freedoms of our country, but a day to be truly grateful for what they and all who have served have given to us.  My flag is at half staff in the front yard, along with a couple others which are on mounts on the side of my garage and shed buildings as well.  They fly every day of the year.

Greg, you are absolutely correct. it is a day to remember and appreciate the ones that gave their lives in service to this nation. Sadly so many these days think of it as a holiday to have cookouts and parties, but to the families that have lost loved ones today and every day is memorial day. I have spent the past few days thinking of friends and family who gave their all. Our church always honors those who made the supreme sacrifice each Memorial Day. Thank you for posting this thread.

Just an old country boy saved by the grace of God.

Just got back from my sister's, we had a little gathering, but for me, kinda a reflective day.

In our immediate family, we have those who have served, but luckily, no MIA's, or KIA's.

When I think of today, I generally think of this:
