Got a series 3 d17 few weeks ago, finally getting it to run good, hooked it to a bush mower, worked on the mower in the shop. When I hooked the remote up, it worked raising and lowering the mower, went to try it in the field, it raised, but would no longer lower. The lift arms raise and lower. I am confused by the owner's manual, and the shop manual about the transport valve, should it be in or out for use to lift and lower mower. I believe I have a stuck valve somewhere, is it most likely in transport valve, or the hydraulic pump itself? Thanks for any advice I get....Andy

Bad or incorrect nosepiece on your hose or the coupler itself.

Coupler ends...one or both....don't match. Transport valves go "righty tighty"closed unless using traction booster on snap coupler implements like a disc with a torsion bar hitch or a plow with hyd lift tail wheel.

Thanks, Dr. Allis and Steve, couldn't stand sitting here, went out and hooked mower back to tractor in dark and pulled it into shop where I could see, and changed both ends with a new set I just happened to have on the shelf. Cranked up and raised and lowered the mower a dozen times without fail. Gosh, if I keep listening to Dr. Allis I may become an expert on D17s in my lifetime. Again, thanks to the Allis friends on this board, Andy
P.S. Now I can sleep tonight..... |
