So I did a couple days worth of work trying to peel off layers of grease and dirt and clay from my WD, and I think this paint I uncovered looks pretty much like what I assume it did originally? Or does this seem a bit dark/faded?

When I was 5 or 6 I watched a neighbor's B delivered.  As I remember it wasn't shiny orange but it seemed pretty bright orange, would have been 1954 or '55.  Personally,m I like the bright color, it just really stands out and grabs you.

When we moved down here to Mesa almost 11 years ago, I bought 6 cans of Persain Orange for AMAC knowing it would be hard to get down here.   After using the last can about two years ago I took a sample to my NAPA store about a mile away and she matched it perfectly.   I just picked up two cans yesterday as I paint all of my models the correct color.  I buy aerosol so it doesn't spoil.  Just shoot it into a jar and then into my airbrush.   I can probably get their code if anyone needs it.    Armand

Has anyone tried AGCO's Persian Orange #1? Part 79021641 for the 1 Qt container. Was curious how the color looked and how well it held up to the weather/scratches?

You are looking for an acrylic enamel which is automotive paint...  as mentioned , for more money you can get Urethane or Epoxy, but the ACRYLIC is good quality paint.

If I am having someone do some spraying for me on my WD, which of the three is the best bet? Acrylic, Urethane or Epoxy? Do some of them take special applicators?

I use the acrylic enamel personally. It sprays very smooth and doesn’t run as easy as other paints that I’ve tried. PPG is excellent paint.

One of my first tries at painting with a hvlp gun using AGCO's PO#1 paint.

I am happy with it.  If I can remember to take my phone with me I will get a picture of the tractor assembled.

take some 600 or 800 grit sand paper to it and maybe a bit of water. That should get you the original color.

Just an FYI, I went to my local AGCO dealer (~70 miles away) and they have quart cans of PO#1 but the part number seems different and it is a low VOC listing. $38 a can.

I like that color that Kelso shot. Looks a lot like the color my Tractors are. I'll probably be doing my B over in the next year or so, so I'll be in the same boat with paint again. I used the Nason on my Tractors. Had my body man shoot them. I don't paint or have a place to paint, so its easier to let my body man paint the pieces in his booth...
