Got the Ol JD end gate seeder oiled up today, put oats, red clover, dutch white clover and Alalalfa thu it today. Two grandsons got to ride in the seeder cart. It took a whole lot of explaining to get them on the right track but about 1/2 way done they picked it up. About 2/3rds of the way done Oldest one hollered at me and said were only getting seed out of the left side. Hard to believe but one of the big wheels drive wheels came loose and slid out on the shaft. You'd think on a 50 or 60 year old seeder those things would be rusted solid. I hope I don't have to use it again, maybe theyll remember a little about it. The darn drive chain NEVER came off. First time that hasn't happened in many times of using this darn thing. I thought it was the only JD equipment I owned but as I was hooking up to my harrow I realized it was JD too, but its on an IHC cart??? Funny, I bought it at my neighbors sale who had everything else AC. Gonna have to tighten a whole lot of bolts on it before I unhook it. He must a bought it at a sale too. Sure glad I spent all That money on the air compressor motor. While I was at it I even changed oil in the old thing. Outta pump air like crazy now. Looks like the air gun and a 1/2" socket outta pull it together rather quick These Grandsons are good help, their wanting to help with the new fence, putting sheds on both sides of the food processing plant, and they want a couple acres of sweet corn again. All good things haven't come to an end yet.

Don't you be a doing that again. White out conditions just a few miles north of here. Been raining and snowing all day, now starting to get icy. Gots ta head into town tomorrow and gets some oil for the D17 and 200, and a whole bunch of other stuff for the other 1/2. Might break down and pay to have a tire fixed tomorrow. If I do it'll be the first time I pay to repair 1 in 30 years. Old gal is a belly aching for me to get these darn raised garden beds made and green house put up. Believe me you don't want the old gal mad at you. Got's to warm up so the cement boys can pour the ribbon foundation for the darn green house. Hope ya get some sleep tonight. I'll probably get my normal 4-5 hours. News just said they have a 10 car pile up on one of the busiest streets in Des Moines, looks like ice!

Sorta the same problem here, SHE bought the treated 2x12's for raised beds last fall, they are still laying in the pile and she has a green house - still in the box still stored in the shed. I gotta take down the old plastic greenhouse that is full of junk, 2 dogs actually sleep in it-- about all that's ever been used for. She's got big shows lined up for the next several weekends so the grandsons helping me out is now out. My excuse is -- waiting on the cement guys!!! Oh well.

Ground is still frozen solid here....couldn't even drive in a couple of Tposts.  Well, I could, somewhat.  The 2.5 inches of rain we'll get by Sunday might fix that.  Calving in the mud after calving in the cold.....Ahhhh, the life!CryLOL

Got the spraying done today now I know why the 3 point sprayer was so cheep at that auction. Sorta hard to get between that 18.4x38 and sprayer. Fat guy couldn't do it. Glad I got them set on 40" rows.   Sprayer worked fine.

Well.....3/4 inches of ice accumulation, 6-8 inches of snow accumulations, raining when it can't decide what else to do, and 45 mph winds for this weekend.  Seeding seems to be out of the question for another 3 weeks best case.
