I have a 706 forklift with a bad perkins engine. Its one with precombustion chambers that have caps outside the head. The rest of the forklift works great. It even has good brakes. Id like to replace the engine with a more modern direct injection engine. Im wondering if a 433 AC out of a 6000 series tractor would work. If anyone has any experience with something like this id like to pick your brain

I have a 706B that someone took out the ford gas engine and replaced it with a Cummins 4bt, it needed new engine mounts made but it bolts to the bell housing, and because the 433 had a standard bolt pattern, its doable, I would find one from a gleaner, if I would have done the conversion I would have put the Allis Chalmers in, the Cummins is a great engine, but I like the sound of the 433 in our backhoe, better
