I checked the oil in the 175 today and it was over the full mark a fair bit. It does not get used very much. It does smell like diesel. I put a new mechanical lift pump on it when I restored it in 2015. I did put a rebuild lit in it about 3 years ago. Tractor runs beautifully, never had any problems with the CAV injection pump. I am thinking of putting on a new lift pump, but is there anything else that could be causing diesel to get into the oil? Many thanks!

I bet the seal out on the front of the injection pump where it bolts on at the front of the engine. I had a MF275 tractor do same thing with a CAV injection pump and a pump rebuild solved the problem.

If that tractor has the perkens engine my brothers leaked fuel into the crankcase on the back side of the fuel pump

Yep a complete pump rebuild and injectors also. Just did my 175 a few months ago. Another reason to pull the dipstick every time before use.

2 places I can think of: lift pump or injection pump shaft seal.
