Hello I am new here, and just bought my first tractor. I was wondering what exactly it is WD or WD45. The engine serial #WD301703PA, the serial # on the left rear brake housing is WD93635. Just curious year and model. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
thanks, Bradley Pennington

That looks to be a 1951 WD. Welcome to the forum. There are a lot of knowledgable people on here. This is a great bunch of folks! Congrats on your first tractor!

Yup, thats a 51 WD. WD45 would have a 45 at the beginning of the engine No. WD45's used the 226 Cubic inch Power Crater. Not 100% certain but I believe the WD put out around 30hp and the WD45 was 43hp

Thanks, i have so much about curved shifters. but a lot of stuff could have happened to it in 60 years. I borrowed a 7 shank all purpose plow for the garden, it pulled it no problem, along with a 5 foot bush hog.

The curved shifter isn't a fool-proof method of identification. The late WD's had the curved shifter also. WD's have a metal plate on the right side of the engine block. Post some pictures if you can. We love pictures. LOL
