Hello everyone. I’m looking to convert my WD45 to electronic ignition. I plan on using the PerTronix kit and flame thrower coil. I am also switching the plug wires to graphite. Question is, do I have to run an external resistor with this coil and do I need to run different plugs ?
Thanks

Just be sure to get a coil for a 4 cylinder and the voltage of your tractor's system.
If it was fun to pull in LOW gear, I could have a John Deere.
Real pullers don't have speed limits.
If you can't make it GO... make it SHINY

We can help you out with all that you're lookin' for. Visit our website. I build the spark plug wire sets for each cylinder.  You don't need to use the Blaster coil although its a nice enhancement. Totally optional. If your 45' is still on the OEM 6VPG system, the stock coil will work fine.  If you flipped it to 12V's, you'll need to hook yourself up with a 12V/3.0 Ohm coil that's internally resisted. We have them in stock also. Definitely don't want to use a ballast resistor. They didn't work under the hoods of 60's Automobiles, never mind out in the elements on a Tractor.  An internal resisted coil (12V's) keeps Mother Nature out so the Tractor runs nice.
