cheaper paints need to have tractor kept in the barn out of the sun... or they fade to pink..

I bought some AGCO rattle can creme paint for wheel centers several years ago and it (at that time anyway) was Valspar brand. I also have used Rust Oleum rattle cans and felt it was pretty good for the price and their "almond" color matched AGCO's creme.

AGCO paint is Valspar and is decent paint. I would say it's comparable with what they were painted with at the factory.
I use Valspar's Renew hardener. I get it at my local JD dealer or online.

With paint, you get what you pay for. With cheap paint, don't expect it to last or hold up too well. AGCO paint is very good, but not cheap.

It's been my experience that Persian Orange 1 seems to vary a lot in color, depending on the paint manufacturer. Some appear to have a brownish tint, others a reddish tint. PO2 and Corporate Orange seem more consistent.

I've been researching paint for a CA (PO #1). Anyone tried Napa, I think it's Martin Senour.

I purchased 1 gallon of PPG Shopline Acrylic Urethane 60080 persian orange on Sept 30,2022 from Colours Inc PPG dealer in Lincoln Nebraska. Price then was $314 per gallon. Used a medium topcoat hardener JH6680 and reducer JR506. Sprayed very nice. Picture shows it applied to wheel hub. Not sure what the price would be today! Best regards, Tom

I loved the Tallmans AG Specialty paint, but I think Van Sickle bought them out.
I have my 45 diesel done with Persian one Tallmans and my WD with Van Sickle. Also have a 57 wd45 that was painted with Allis Persian 1 paint in the 70s. I’ll have to get a picture of the 3 together to see the differences next I have them all out. |
