   taken from internet site... The hood, doors and tailgate are made from aluminum, and the all-important bed made from roll-formed high-strength steel.    Only thing on a 2018 that's not steel is the hood . 2019 are different I guess . Thanks

   Have to lighten them up to gain economy, is not good for towing as when the truck gets lighter the trailer can push around easier.

   I looked at more than a dozen different pickups before I bought 1.  My pal at the body shop told me "If you buy a new ford I'll get you a steel box and put on it".  I have no idea where he gets them. He's done a dozen or so.  We decided to go with the Chevy because it rode better than ford or Dodge.
