Thanks for posting it. We have a set of tracks and sprockets that were included with a tractor we bought. After watching the video and counting teeth, etc., they appear to be Model K tracks, and are for sale.

I picked up this machine at an auction last fall, and it was a fun winter/spring project. It had a fully enclosed wood cab (which I have since removed for restoration). The cab leads me to believe that it was a snow cat at one time, with a V plow and possibly wings. I think the current blade started its life on an HD7, and was added sometime later. This is when it was welded straight, and the hard bar was added under the machine. If you look closely at the steel tube running over the top, you'll see a piece has been welded in. I believe that was to make up the difference in width between an HD7, and a Wide gauge K. Quality workmanship all around. Merely speculation, and would love to hear opinions. Are these both the same machine? They sure look similar, with that welded in piece, on top of the baker blade. Was the video I posted your's, under a different user name, on youtube? Sure looks to be a small world...

Squatch is a regular on Antique Caterpillar Machinery Owners Club from MN. He puts out some very detailed you tubes rebuilding of different components of Cats and some other stuff.
Squatch in the video says gas engine, Is there a gas engine version of the K? Or not being a AC guy did he just get confused by the fact it has spark plugs to help lite the diesel.
There were a fair number of K's to farm with in my part of the world and 90% of them had been converted to run butane or propane.

K was gas version and KO was oil engine (diesel). many were converted back to gas i hear. dont see an injection pump on this one, looks like plastic bag over magneto.

Squatch had it right, its gas. I had it out at a local show a few weeks ago, and that is when he did the walk around.
