One on the on-line auction in northern ND. Missing some parts but it would be too bad if a scrapper got it.

That's about a half hour from me. To bad it's an online deal, if it were a real auction on the weekend (some people have to work, LOL) I'd go and do my best to get it. If someone goes through the hassle of winning the online auction cheaply for me, I'll buy it from them. What is this worth? Calling all experts, is this worth buying with the missing parts etc? This vintage Allis is out of my expertise, but I'd love to get one.

With this on-line auction it's like an absentee bid ( sort of like e-bay), you can put in your high bid anytime and the bids are automatic according to other bids submitted, the only difference here is you can't get beat in the last second because if a bid is placed within the last couple minutes the auction gets 2 or 3 minutes added to it so you always have time to rebid. At 7pm on Thurs Oct 10 if there have been no recent bids the auction ends and if you win you pick it up Sat the 12th. You should go for it, you'll never find one closer and I'm guessing because of location you won't have a lot of competition.

Now dang it Lonnie, you're making this hard to resist, LOL. Looking at the way this works more I now see what you mean. It's a better system than e-bay (which I refuse to use). I'm just about convinced to put in a bid.
But the big question now guys, what is this particular tractor REALLY worth? I need to hear some numbers before I place a bid. Please give me your opinions. I know getting into these older tractors gets more pricey when it comes to parts (which this obviously needs some) etc... I know it's hard to put a price with so many unknowns. Feel free to PM or email me if you prefer.

It's only missing the rad, hood and seat post. I also have all the parts needed. If it were in my area I would say it would go for around $1000. (I have 3 of them)
The air cleaner assembly seems to be intact, which is rare around here. Edited by Alberta Phil - 01 Nov 2011 at 9:36am |

Well guys, As of now I'm the high bidder! I'll do my best to save this one and fix her up if she's not too rough. If I win, I'll be looking for some parts, so it's good to hear that you all have some avaliable. Wish me luck!

Life lesson: If you’re being chased by a lion, you’re on a horse, to the left of you is a giraffe and on the right is a unicorn, what do you do? You stop drinking and get off the carousel.

Well, the bidding is done. A couple of people wanted it A LOT more than me, and more than it is worth in my opinion. It ended up selling for $2,007.00 I quit bidding after about $1,800 once the other two started getting after it.
I went and looked at it in person last Saturday and talked to the owner, which was a nice guy, and is actually related to a guy I work with. It has been sitting out in that spot for at least 40 years, with no can on the exhaust even. Engine is obviously stuck. Front rims (besides being cut down's), were completely shot, as was the rubber. The story is that the radiator was tore off when a chain broke/got wrapped around it when they were using it to pull around train cars at the elevator where it spent a lot of its life. Ripped it right off he said. He hauled it to his place shortly after to "fix it up some day" that same old story. But he is in the process of getting rid of stuff that he will never get to. So, the big question, did anyone here get it? And even bigger question. Anyone have a 20-35 they wana sell? If nothing else, this auction has shown me that I would like to get a old Allis some day. Oh well, I guess it wasn't meant to be....

Oh, and the B went for $775 and the mower $110. Both were overpriced in my opinion, B was a $400-500 in my opinion, and the mower was a parts unit in reality.

And just in case anyone is keeping records or anything, the serial number of the 20-35 is 12375 and the engine number is 43955
The B serial number is B42803 and the engine number (stamped on the rear of the block) is BE43432G
