I know we have all battled snow this past week and winter season. Here is a link to some videos of extreme snow removal on the roads and on the rails.

Awsome site. We have a hard time if we get 6 or 8 inches. Schools close and most of the town shuts down. Thanks for sharing. Well worth the time to watch. Thanks, Mike

Some of those big rotary snow plows that are in use on the railroads are quickly approaching or have passed their 100th birthday. They have been updated a few times over the year though. The rotary plow in the video was built in Sept. of 1915 and converted from steam power in 1966.
Thanks Ken

I don't understand why they don't keep the rotary blower "spooled" up and easing forward instead of how they were doing it? I'm sure there's a reason a Southern Boy doesn't understand!

There used to be a few PennDOT owned snowblowers mounted on wheel loaders....they were powered by 427 Chevy Big Blocks with straight up headers...dad said you could hear them for miles. He knew the guy that ran the one and he said of blowing out a road years ago and had to stop when he realized he chewed the back half(engine included) of a Chevy Corvair....he saw pistons and parts flying and realized he hit something.
