Has anyone used the Red Kote gas tank liner product? Results good or bad? Any tips on application?
Thanks,

Yes, we use it exclusivly as a gas tank sealer. It is a good product and works very well. We normally take the tank into the radiator shop and have it dipped and cleaned before using the Red Kote. That of course removes the paint on the outside as well. If you are just going to seal the tank without repainting it, it needs to be cleaned out well on the inside. For that we use MEK (methyl ethyl keytone). Gotta be careful with that though cause it will take the paint off if you get it on the finish.

Talk about weird. I was just going to ask the same question. I just now got back from taking the gas tank off the WC and I was curious about Red Kote's performance.

Be careful with M E K . Static elertric or synthatic rags can set it on fire. Guy at work was wiping down machine with M E K using a synthetic rag , caught on fire in his hands.

Be careful! Both M.E.K. and Red Kote are highly flammable and give off alot of fumes... No open flames and wait until warmer weather if you are heating your shop with a woodstove.

I have used Red Kote for several years and would not use anything else.I had used others in the past and the Red Kote is cheaper and better by far.
