I am working on a 715 backhoe S/N 1098 for my father. I have the engine out and need a rebuild kit. Everyone I have contacted only seem to have "1974" and above this one is a "73" 236 perkins. Can anyone point me in the right direction for these parts?

I had a 715 serial 1056. I thought that all Perkins 236 of that vintage were the same.
Have a 715 B now (24 years). Did not do engine work to either one. Check with a Massey dealer. MF used all Perkins engines. Edited by Calvin Schmidt - 04 Dec 2011 at 8:39pm |

Seems there are a lot of perkins engine parts suppliers out there and the 4-236 was used in many applications.

Later ones probably used the 4-248 engine. That is why they are listed differently.
