Anyone ever make 3 point equipment into snap coupler? If so could you please post some pics? Got an idea on how to do it but I'd like to see if I'm on the right track.

You will need a whole bunch of parts. You will need the "Pull Bar" with an "Eye" and "Beam Plate". The "Lift Bar" and the "Lift Shaft" are the same , both 2 inch, but the "Lift Shaft" will have pins on the ends.. That's if you are using AC equipment (plows). Going SC to 3 pt should be much easier.

Not hard at all. Have used 3" angle iron, and 3" heavy wall square tube to do it. Make a "V" the width of the implement at the pins. 36 to 42" (more or less in length) bend a 5/8 to 3/4 rod stock into a U or eye. Weld together. Mount at the pins. Short chain with 5/8 X 4" bolts to fit in snaps, Take 2" strap stock, bend in another U to fit into the snaps. if you mount the V so that it is limited in up/down movement it works fine. Can also make the wide end of the V a bit more narrow and mount it under the 3 point frame, and attach at the front and center of the implement. Gives you more stability, but of course you need longer legs on the V. If you are still checking this post and are interested I will try to add pics. Have done rear blade, disc, landscape mower, 6 ft rotary cutter, scratch built dirt scoop, a log skid hitch and a plow in this fashion. No issues yet. Much more user friendly in my opinion with snap system. There is a pic of the log skidder on one of my earlier posts. you'll probably get the idea. SA

That's kinda what I was thinking but using something like 3" x 3/4" flat for the v (or arms) and then welding the ball ends for a 3 point onto them. Figured on using an old hook and eye style barn cleaner link for the coupler and then the lift linkage would either be chain or else flat stock steel. In my mind should be pretty simple but you never know....

Allis made at least one adapter to do just that. I have one floating around I can snap a picture of.

 Don't know if this helps but, I bought this mower that had been converted to snap coupler. He was using chain for the lift links. I made new lift arms from 2x1/4" flat stock with 5/8" rod welded to the top. He used 2x2" square tube for the drawbar.

What are you trying to convert? I've got some snap coupler equipment that I can no longer use. Might be cheaper and easier to rob parts of snap coupler stuff.

I've got a 3pt rototiller mounted on an Snap-Coupler 'adapter', put a 7' cultivator on another adapter, got a 3rd adapter lying around here 'somewhere'. They've all been 'bodged' or 'modified', so I don't know what's 'legit' but they seem simple to make ONCE you know the dimensions. There are at least 2 versions, 1 for stuff needing a PTO, another for nonPTO stuff. The 'need PTO' has the 'top link' connected to a plate under the seat, nonPTO there's a post on the adapter where the 3pt toplink attaches to.
Each implement has it's own toplink so I don't have to adjust them but once!

First thing I want to "convert"is an 8' cultivation. If I can get that figured out then I'd like to find a 3 point disk and do that. If I would ever want a plow I think I'd just try and find a SC plow as I think if I tried to make a regular 3 point plow work with a homemade adapter would be a challenge. Plus it seems that SC plows are relatively easy to find compared to other SC implements.

For implement hitch details look at the plow frames book referenced over in the Knowledge Forum under AC Plows Parts 101. For plows it appears the plow frames are the same for all hitches, just the hitch parts change for the various hitches that were offered. I suspect every new plow order involved picking a plow frame, then the hitch, and then the bottoms and came as separate shipments to be assembled by the dealer.
