Just got an H3 at an auction on Saturday. Just curious, do the steering clutches activate the brakes or do you have to use the pedals?

Brakes and steering clutches are separately applied - clutch first then the brake is used to turn . HD 4 is the same - later units use pedal steer to apply clutch first and then brake .

Life lesson: If you’re being chased by a lion, you’re on a horse, to the left of you is a giraffe and on the right is a unicorn, what do you do? You stop drinking and get off the carousel.

The brake pedals help steer. The long lever just releases the clutch. To turn you have to use both.
