![]() ![]() ![]() A40FDE37356E.jpeg" /> Took a chance and cut one of our Orchard grass fields today. Forecasters have been wrong all weekend so I took a chance with their 20 percent chance all week. Hay is 3 weeks over due. Felt good to mowing on the XT pulling our AC390 haybine. Big brother on the 6060 pulling the Enorrossi 4 basket Tedder. |

I see your tedder is almost identical to the one I bought this year. The only difference I see is the hydraulic tilt adjustment. Mine has a hand crank. It's the only reason you have to get off the tractor. Did you rig that up yourself?

No, that’s the way we bought it new 2 years ago. May have been an option I guess. Really nice to adjust it from the seat. Have been really impressed with it.

I believe all I would have to do is remove the crank and replace it with a short hydraulic cylinder. That might be something I'll do later on. I really liked mine. It runs real smooth, doesn't shake, vibrate, or make any noise. It spreads the hay nice and even too.

Yes it should be easy. I can't imagine using a crank as I fine tune it as I go. It is a very nice unit and has dropped the drying time a lot for us. Seems to be better built than the NH units

Is a 390 just a Hesston PT-10? Sure looks like it.

I would have to say no. Pto runs through the tongue on the Hesston. Driveline to gearbox is totally different. Good question though. Tiger teeth on the cutter bar made a big difference for us. Orchard grass was almost 5 ft tall with blade grass about a foot tall. Cut it with no problem.

Wow, great pictures. I wish I could cut hay now, well, I could cut it but it might take two weeks to dry. Looks like we have potential rain every day for the next two weeks. Usually this is the driest part of late spring early summer. I once owned a JD 9' swather that I heard was made by Hesston, boy, was that a piece of junk. I guess I should have expected that, it was painted green after all...

I've never owned a PT10. A 1090 and a 1091. The head and the right side safety shield look identical. The walking frame knife drive would make it for sure but its not visable.

![]() ![]() Was able to bale some nice Orchard grass this afternoon after work. Threatening sky’s but no rain. Wife did well for her first driving experience. Our son joined us when he got off work. That’s him on my new to me WD, pulling the last windrow away from trees so it will dry for tomorrow. Ole girl with a foot throttle makes it a joy to rake with. |
