Any ideas why all the power steering fluid gets pumped out the vent in the steering gear box? T.I.A

I'd guess there's air getting into the system. Does the oil look foamy ??

Bad seal on the suction side of the pump?

yes  we did a ford 2600 two months ago , seals in the bottom of the orbit motor are bad that is the cheap part the cause of the prob. will the needle bearing in the bottom will be bad so you will probley have to re cover all of the loose needles, also  at least one of the two thrust bearings will be  about shot also the upper steering shaft bushing and seals will need to be replaced,  otherwise the new seals will not last a day ,   hardest part of the job is  getting the wheel off an the cowling off i think we was about 260 .00 in parts for that job
