You might want to post about your 816 on the Construction Equipment Forum.  That where more of the yellow equipment discussions happen.

If you haven't yet, check out the Minnpar website.  They have the 816 parts book on line and they are a source for some parts.  You will find the original filter numbers, most of which can be cross referenced by a parts store.

If you don't have manuals there are several used OEM manuals on eBay right now.

For the engine I would use 15W40, forward reverser Dexron ATF, 4 speed 80-90W, diff 80-90W. You can use synthetic of the same viscoscity... just a lot more money, for myself I would probably only do that if living north of 60th parallel and operating a lot in the winter.
The fuel filters are quite common with the Perkins 3 and 4 cyl. If you have a reputable tractor dealer that cover Perkins diesel, they'll get you the right filters. Your engine in that 816 is a Perkins 248 cubic inch. This engine has been widely used in many applications, same filters etc as the 236 cu. in., Massey Ferguson also used these engines. If you're OK with a bit smaller than original oil filter you can use, the famous for many years primarily in the '70's, Ford/Chrysler engine oil filter.
Currently- WD,WC,3WF's,2 D14's B. Previously- I 600,TL745,200,FL9,FR12,H3,816 LBH. Earth has no sorrow that Heaven cannot heal!
