Hello to all I am new to Allis chalmers I have a 190xt when I am working it and try to shift into high range it pulls very slow but it does fine in low range, also when it has no load on it it works fine in high range. I have checked all the fluids could it be a week relief spring in the power director valve?

might check all linkages to make sure it is engaging all the way. I know that was a part of my problem on Dads 200.

Dont run like this too much , you will warp the clutch plates in the POWERDIRECTOR !!! Need to get a 300 lb gauge on a 4 ft section of hyd hose and a FIX IT book to check the pressure going to the high and low side of the POWERDIRECTOR plates , if the pressures to low the plates wont engage fully , slip and break , the pressure is adjust able on the linkage , but also check the linkage attaching points as bushings and pieces wear over time throwing the pressures off ; even loose bolts on the foot deck of the tractor will cause the moving pressures ; oh yeah, you,ll love this tractor !!!

I can't find any problems with the linkage I am getting ready to check the pressures. I cant' wait to see what it can do when it is pulling correctly now with only low range working right it has been pulling 6 16" white.

Does anyone know where I can find the shims for the power director valve, from the pressure readings that seem to be the problem.
