Bought one from a friend yesterday for $40. In real good shape that he got with the tractor when he bought it used years ago. He also gave me the operators manual that was in fair condition and a real rough shape operators manual for the old Massey Ferguson square baler he had. Was that a fair deal for it? I didn't want to take advantage of our friendship. That 45 he had and that MF baler was what I learned to square bale on when I was a teenager. The guy is about 80 years old now and he called me up one day to invite me over to look at the manuals and wanted to know if I was interested in them. I had seen him maybe twice in the past 20 years. Wish I could find that old 45.

Any deal with a friend is a fair deal.  I don't barter with friends to try to get the price down if I want the item.  You did fine.

Stan, you hit the nail on the head! It was worth every penny to be able to talk with an 80 year old guy who still has the "passion"!  Lonn paid what the guy asked so everybody should be happy!
