The guy called and said the backhoe is mine.
Tomorrow afternoon I’ll go put a battery and fresh gas in it and see if it will run?
Been sitting less than a year.
It will be nice if it will run and drive.
It’s way down in there with a couple sharp switch backs. Not super steep but tight quarters.

good luck on your trip home...and if you find the front end is a little light, put sum dirt or gravel/rock in the front bucket, my backhoe was really light in the front, if it bounced you never knew where you'd be pointing when it came back down. sounds like a nice buy, we want pics!

Not sure if I’m gonna road it home?
It’s about 20 miles back roads to keep off main hiway and down a 6%
Grade on the hiway.
This route has about 8 miles of hiway but not main hiway and no trucks on this road. One back tire is suspect.?
I’m hoping to just drive it up off of the property to the county road. Then maybe down 5 miles of county road to the main hiway and haul it from there.
Hoping to pay my bosses son or someone to haul it from there.

Good luck Thad! Those Arkansas switchbacks aren’t to be messed with. Might want to toss in a clean pair of undershorts with the battery and gas!
Take some pics and no doubt here that you’ll get it running!

Hope you have an easier time than we did.. Boy bought a CASE 530 setting for 10 years.. He was going to "DRIVE" it out... I went and looked and told him he was dreaming..  Took the hoe off back in the woods... Jacked up the bucket and blocked the cylinders. Made a hitch to bolt to the bucket. Pumped up the tires... and pulled it a mile thru the woods, down the hill, around the bend, thru the ditch, to get to the gravel road where i parked the trailer............ Took an old FORD axle and mounted it to the hoe a month later. Boom was straight OUT. Made a hitch to bolt to the bucket and pulled it out like a trailer..

GOOD LUCK !!

Worked on it a half a day and have it running and driving well.
One back tire is suspect or I’d drive it home. I can drive it to the main road no problem.

Joe I sent you a video of the initial start up.
You can hear it trying to hit on the 4 th cylinder.
After a couple minutes it cleared right up.
Ran amazingly well for sitting and not cleaning the carb.

Got the ole backhoe home safe and sound. She drove out under her own power.
Had to back out the first section to the first switch back and was able to drive the rest of the way.
I have a couple pics if somebody wants to post them.
I can’t from my iPhone.

First order of business will be a tuneup kit next will be fluid change then throw away the plastic boat seats and wooden blocks under them.
The previous owner must of been a short heller.
Makes it very hard for my arthritic old self to get on and off.
Any suggestions for simple durable seats?
I have one extra WD type pan seat.

That’s nice and certainly takes up all of that trailer! Don’t envy the switchback experience heading home!

That's the first A-C backhoe I've seen in a long time. Used one both digging and shutting graves, (human) at a cemetery I worked during the high school years. Most of their grounds equipment at the time was A-C.
