Needed a part so called Steiner gal Lois if they had the part in stock. Of course we have it she said in a quick minute so Kare drove me there to pick it up. Beats waiting 7 days to get it from TSC and price was the same.

While there I was looking around at things I need to make my D 17 nicer again. I looked at the fenders as mine are really badly rusted thru. So I asked the fellow who went and got the part I needed about the fenders and if they looked as good as the one on display. He walks back with me and asked if it was the D series fender or the WC/WD one. I say the D series so he pulls one out of the box for me to look at. I ask if that is what is normal, Yup he says it is. No I my self really could not find any fault with it nor the display one. May not be nice enough for some one with a prmia dona show tractor with a $2000.00 paint job and another $1000.00 in clear coat but for a fellow with a working tractor I say they are just fine way better than my rusted out ones for sure.

From everything I have heard, and I have not had my hands on one, the D series reproduction fenders are just like you described.  Good enough for a working tractor, but anyone who wants to use them on a restoration will need to have some metal working skills to iron out the wrinkles pardon the pun.

Well the ones you looked at must be nicer then the 2 I ordered from them about 4 years ago. Mine came pre dented I guess so you didn't feel bad about hitting them. Some nice runs in the paint and the dies they where stamped on looked long over due for replacement.   Hopefully they have improved over the years. Mine had made in India stickers on them for the record.

Hope they were better than the wd45 repos I got 2 years ago. They were thinner than the old ones dad left buried in the dirt for 20 years.

Well I was real happy with the service I got while there and the young fellow pulling one out of the box so I could compare it with the display model.
I am going to buy a pair when I start redoing my D17 but I will not put a $2000.00 paint job and a $1000.00 layer of clear coat on it. I also will be working it in the winter time and not have it stored in a climate controlled building.
