I pulled another bone headed stunt yesterday. And I've done this enough times I should know better. landed myself in some hot water with the nurse.
Now I know what Thad goes through everytime he tries to sneak a motorcycle gizmo into the neighbors mail and gets caught.
i gots my 1992 Ditch Witch 5110 ride on trencher with backhoe attachment in the shop for some major werk and I'm going to do a fresh paint job while I'm at it.
So I call up the local parts store, and without asking for a price I order a gallon of orange paint, a gallon of reducer, and a quart of hardner and I ask the nurse to pick it up on the way home from work.
Oh boy did I get my ash reamed when she got home.
One gallon orange paint $234.19 One gallon reducer $ 41.51 One quart hardner $ 124.96 Tax 7% $ 28.05
Total $ 428.71
Now I know prices have gone up but this is about double what I expected to pay. Yikes!

I still gots my A/C but it's clear out in the barn now.

Hey Les,,,any of the "reds" are gonna be higher than the other colors,,,but that right there is a dang good bit too dang HIGH for a gallon,,,was it metalflake or what,,?? You should get some other quotes somewhere else or ORDER the paint online,, ( TSC carries a pretty good paint) You just need a gallon of Acrylic Enamel or Imron (Eurethane) and 1 (one) pint of hardner for a gallon of paint,,any more and it is wasted. You either need 1 gallon of "reducer" if you use Acrylic Enamel or one gallon of Lacquer Thinner if you use the other. Some people would spray some Clear Coat over it all if you plan to keep it but,,,,,,, Bring it down here and I'll paint it for you,,,,,,,

I am married to one too but she is not like that she would come home with the paint and a new sprayer and whatever else she could buy. Took her to Harbor Freight one time that was a mistake, she was constantly asking don't you need this don't you need that? She is a habitual shopper.

What The Hill has the NURSE part got to do with it??? My wife isn't a nurse, in fact she doesn't even like em! Every time she has to go see one, she get squished in places she don't like! She'd a left the paint n stuff there and STILL be chewin my arse....  HOLY CHIT, that is WAY too high a price!!!!!!! I know paint is outrageous, but that is just plain NUTS!!  You shoulda shopped around!! You're just too trusting sometimes.....  I gots a better idee,,,,,, take it down to Joe so's he can paint it and in the mean time, you go down to see Thad and bring him back to DJ's and then bring em BOTH back with you so they can go (sneak) up by Shameless and fetch that V-8 tractor that Shameless sayid DJ can have fer nuthin!!  Plan out the itinerary so's the rest of us can plan on coming over!!! Shameless has promised he'd have a BIG cookout and he's gonna give us some GOOD beer,,,,,,that'd be a treat for DJ,,,,,,,instead of that ole Black Crap.... Did ja find your phone yet???

o-k….that did it! I went out and started "the machine"! take that ya'll! whew! Les...I coulda helped ya on paint'in that rig, you like pashonate pink....right? and I wouldn't have even charged ya! oh...by the way, yer rival well company here dun lost their trailer by our place, had their Vermeer (I think) maybe it's a Case ride on backhoe/trencher on it, took out ALOT of BIG trees and then the trailer flipped and dumped the trencher on it's side in a bean field. maybe they'll have sum parts for you? good thing it went off towards the ditch, coulda been real bad if it crossed the center line of the highway!

Yes and you and ole Les knew this ahead of time but not even a hint of a warning from either of you yahoos. Now I’m running around doing what she wants and getting fun poked at me at work. May a little extra snow pretty your pastures.

Hell I bought a gallon of Tractor Paint at the local Farm Store, was over $50 and does not cover like the commercial auto paints. Will do what I need done.

Well ya see Ray, you ,mght be calling me a crafty ole devil after I lets you in on a big secret. You see I don't need no davenport up at the house. The nurse spends all day on that thing on her days off and that's ok. Now don't go tellin none of these other guys on here, specially Ted. But you see thet motorhome is parked inside the same place I'm werkin. And it has a real nice comfy sleep by number bed in it's. Psssst. You see where I'm goin with this?

Do not feel bad. I did exactly the same thing a while back. Ordered some paint for my 200 allis,and the bill was 690.00$ Yes, as in six hundred ninety. I was ticked off too,more than my wife was. But the 200 is beautiful if i can say that without bragging. They say it's easier to ask for forgiveness than for permission. Get the nurse something nice!
