A city/country guy owns a red M that he leaves on our farm for his and our use. We cannot figure out where and how to add and or check the hydraulic fluid. Where do you add it and where or how do you check it??? thnaks for your help.

On the right side of the tractor near the pulley there should be a fill cap on the top surface

The old IH equipment had petcocks. Usually two,  one above the other. If the oil ran out the top one it was full. If it did not run out of the bottom one, you needed to add.

somewhere on the side of case is a level plug , take it out and pour oil into case till it comes out side plug.
