Need a little info from the Gurus on a part for the electric heater in the bathroom. I was lowering the "Low-High" setting on the heater when the dang knob came off in my hand,,,,I heard a "ping" somewhere on the tile floor and the heater stayed on but knob was just laying on top of the heater.
The heater is a Two heat setting 750W and 1500watt that is only bout 6 months old but surely a china product.  Took the top cover off and the knob had screwed itself off the rheostat/Potentiometer housing and after screwing it back on (Left hand threads) there is a small piece that is pushed by the adjusting knob that closes the contacts to raise temp on heater. THAT piece is what I heard fly off in the distance,,,,,,somewhere,,,,!!!
I checked out Surplus Center and ebay and amazon but cannot find one similar.
Wondering why a 3 position toggle switch "OFF-LOW-HI" wouldn't work instead of the rheostat type control,,,,?

Is it under warm-ah-tee by any chance ??

OK, 'lever' switch won't work..
it has off,on one side, on the other side.. same as a '3-way' light switch for hallways.
draw 2 light bulbs and how you can ONLY connect one OR the other NOT both..

there's 'magic' in the MECHANICALLY design of the 'rotary' switch

Joe, i dont really understand the "SWITCH"... Not sure if all it does is switch from 750w to 1500w ( two positions) or is it a rehostat / thermostat that sets the temp ?

You could install a double pole switch that was 750w on one side and 1500w on the other ( and maybe OFF in the center.... Or you could install a THERMOSTAT to vary the temp ?

This was on ZORO...

post the name/make/model /number ? info of the heater
google might find xxx parts for it
if it only says 'off-low-high' then it's just switching 1 or 2 , 750w heaters on . It'll be preset for a max temp.
if it said '0.....10' and the knob smoothly rotates, it's an 'adjustable'  thermostat

IF ????
What isn't Made in China ???
If..IF.. that switch could be made here, it'd cost 3x more than the complete heater from China

BTW, DJ, you'll find that missing piece during the Easter Egg hunt...
