Hello Kweeber: Your information is extremely helpful. As a result of your information combined with what was observed on the H-3 0008 one can conclude that there are perhaps more H-3's than what has been recorded.
It would also be reasonable to conclude that since the factory might have remaining stock during the later stages of the H3 series and the beginning of the H4 series that they could have continued to assemble machines and the recording of what was assembled never made it into the final records. Add to the fact that Norm was involved heavily on the Ag. side and not the Industrial side. Norm in his Industrial books extends credits to "others" within the Allis Chalmers Company for providing records and insights on various models of Allis Industrial and Construction Machinery. This is noted in the very beginning of the Allis Industrial Construction Machinery book - hence the basis that information on serial numbers and records regarding same came from "other" sources and may not reflect the total number produced.
Nonetheless, Norm's books where an wonderful tribute to the Allis company its machinery. His books contain a wealth of information that may not have been otherwise written without his interest and foresight!
