Helping a friend look for the winch pump for Carco winch on 11-B. I believe it is a 50PS winch, has external winch pump under injection pump on the engine. Wondering if anyone has the part number or info on this pump. Thanks

most 11s I have seen had belt driven pumps mounted on the front head. But yes parts book shows gear driven pump under fuel pump.
Carco # 46486-1. You should be able to contact Paccar winch for any info on this. I tried the same once but never had much luck with a F50ps winch pump for a D6D. But then again im at the bottom of the world. And it would be a lot easier for you to just call them. Cheers merv |

I'll have to do some digging, but I'm pretty sure that we substituted a Cessna pump for that Carco pump. Very similar to the pump on the Bseries that runs the steering. Those pumps are easy to come by, don't remember what kind of volume is needed, but I'm pretty sure they bolt right to that adapter. We had both a Hyster and a Carco on different 11Bs. The Carco setup has since turned into rippers so it may take some time to find and identify what was on there.

Ok, thanks Mel and Merv. I do have an extra steering pump for a series B, maybe that would work? I know there is two different lengths for the accessory drive housing on 11000 engines too.

Does the Hyster run an external pump as well?

Hyster W6E runs a external pump. W6F has internal pump.
Specs for a carco winch pump are 5-15gpm. The HD11 Guru in NZ who had a lot of EP and series B HD11s with F50 winchs also said once. That the push start pumps on certain early EP series tractors also made good winch pumps. Most people here disconnected the push start pumps along with the ground speed governors and all their associated hydraulics. Made the plumbing a lot simpler when doing repair work on the torque converters and transmissions. |

Ok, should have done my due diligence earlier- turns out it is a Hyster W6EA winch. I tried my steering pump, it does bolt to the flange on an 11000 engine, but the unknown part is the length of the mounting flange and stub shaft on his machine. 9 spline shaft, seems to be fairly common arrangement. Another problem is that Allis used 3 different pump mounting flanges on 11000 engines, so a guy needs the proper length of stub shaft for the appropriate engine. I found that out a few years ago when we took a Carco winch off an older 11-B and put it on a later model- the stub shaft was too long for the newer machine. (We should have gotten the flange and all) I'm not sure if that stub shaft would be an Allis Chalmers part, or supplied by the winch company?
(Things to keep in mind when mounting winch- I guess the later models incorporated an accumulator so the engine drive pump was no longer needed)

If you look up Allied winch; Allied bought Hyster.
And go do the manuels section, you can download a W6EA parts manuel; and any other hyster manuel too. And parts may still be available from them Cheers Merv |
