Hi I'm new to this sight. I have a 1957 HD6G, I might have located a 7000 military engine for this, I am just wondering if the flywheel and clutch housing from the old engine will fit on the 7000 engine? Is there anything else I will have to install on the new engine from the old engine? thanks

Hi South ks a few years ago we put a 7000 engine in a 1956 HD6. it was a generator engine and we used the original 344 buda flywheel and bellhousing. had some clearance problems with the starter, oil filter, fan blade. also had to have the injector pump respringed to allow for a range of throttle and not just wideopen as the generator needed. hope this helps this is a very good site welcome to it Danny
