Ok guys, Been busy and is the busy time of year for us,don't have time to do this right now but it's about ACs so you know where I'm at. We got an invite to take some tractors to the Roots of Motive Steam Fest  held annually in Willits, Ca. Home of Roots of Motive Power. Last year we took the HD5 and HD6 for display and had lots of fun.It was very hot and it is a busy time of year for us. We thought we might pass this year. Some of the other members in the Roots club thought we should bring one of our bigger collection tractors to run during the event to push dirt for the steam shovel to operate on. OK FINE, can't miss that event. So we opted to take the HD15A. So it needed some simple upgrades, like a chrome stack photo P9030021_zps1803b69f.jpg
If you go to a show you need a chrome stack. There's a whole story about how to make a chrome stack for an HD15. So the other thing we needed was the decals photo P9030028_zpsca731a34.jpg
So we had our sign guy make some and I got them to stick. photo P9030031_zps5924a124.jpg
Not to bad photo P9030033_zps671e5e04.jpg
So we got there and unloaded it and I made some passes to make sure we can keep up with the International TD24 and the Cat 15A that will be the other displays photo P9040045_zps9c3b22b0.jpg
 photo P9040046_zps0028e181.jpg
 photo P9040049_zps99e0b7ee.jpg
The other thing we got done in time for this show was we got our Allis Chalmers collection logos done. This is on the Core HD5 (the perfect spiecemen HD5 that is our standard to live up to) It's a must for all AC displays photo P9030022_zps93876c38.jpg
We're planning on taking lots of pictures and adding more after the show. Saftey meeting is at 0700 tomorrow

So after the 7:AM safety meeting and crew assignments we moved to the dirt pile photo P9050002_zps414127cb.jpg
The TD24 had some fuel issues with gas to start it and the Cat D8 needed gas and of course before it got going we overhauled the gas line, filter and bowl. photo P9050007_zps3e9724ce.jpg
AC people know how a Detroit starts, so I started work without them photo P9050009_zps0266001e.jpg
 photo P9050010_zps359d17c2.jpg
Made a couple of passes and had to stop to adjust the Garwood front unit. photo P9050011_zps78613a93.jpg
So going again, they begin moving steam equipment around photo P9050014_zps8bf261fd.jpg

We moved to the back of the pile to do some dirt sculpturing and move the grass that was growing. Was also concerned about novice  operators falling of the back of the pile photo P9060009_zpsab326aea.jpg

Great pics Mel. Would have been a fun day. Getting the 15 into work way ahead of the yellow and red tractors really makes me smile

Thanks for the great comments! But wait there's more! So the dozer operators take a break while the steam shovel makes more dirt photo P9060033_zpsb8478707.jpg
Dennis Gullick has a Cletrac collection and was giving operating instructions to a friend photo P9060035_zps49e1effa.jpg
We hooked it up to a rubber tired logging arch for demonstrations photo P9060018_zps5a7bb52d.jpg
We had to pull the bull line off the Carco winch and spool it over the top. photo P9060025_zps55de0e89.jpg
